Course Description: This introductory course explores the emerging field of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), focusing on its therapeutic potential for various mental health conditions. Participants will learn about the indications for use, including treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorders, and PTSD. The course will cover appropriate treatment settings, such as clinical environments, private practices and retreats, and discuss the various routes of administration, including intravenous, intramuscular, and oral ketamine. Students will learn about foundational principles of KAP, including protocols and responsible applications that support its use in psychotherapy. The course will also explore the potential impact on the therapeutic process, including enhanced therapeutic relationship, deeper emotional exploration, heightened capacity to tolerate feeling states and enhanced flexibility in perspective. Additionally, participants will gain insight into a range of potential experiences and outcomes associated with KAP, including both psychological and physiological effects of ketamine.
